Dr Nicola Williams - Campaigner for Women's Rights

Dr Nicola Williams is a research scientist specialising in human biology and has held a number of senior scientific positions within the pharmaceutical industry. She is now dedicated to her full-time volunteer role as a writer and speaker on reform of the Gender Recognition Act (GRA) and its impact on women and children.

She is the author of a recent study on transgender prisoners, has submitted written evidence to the Prison planning inquiry conducted by Commons Justice Select Committee and was a participant in a parliamentary meeting for MP's to hear women's views on GRA reform. She has spoken on the topic of transgender prisoners on both radio and TV and her work has featured in an article in The Sunday Times.

Dr Williams has an excellent working knowledge of the laws designed to protect women and the transgender community. She has written a series of easy-to-read articles and fact-sheets to promote awareness and understanding of the rights we have and need to build on. She also has an expert knowledge of the science and statistics used in the transgender debate and can offer a critical and informed view of the research in the field. 

She is the spokeswoman for the women's rights organisation Fair Play For Women and is available for media interviews and expert opinion to enable a balanced and informed debate.
